# An order's route, with its gates

An order's route, step by step, with the gates that hold it up. Some are there on purpose, because somebody has to decide. Others are friction nobody chose. Mark which is which and the map separates the ones worth automating from the ones worth keeping.

An order's route, with its gates

Each tap moves the gate between three states: as it works today, kept on purpose, or handed to the agent. Control gates still in place: 3 of 3.

The order takes 40 hours to go out and uses 34 minutes of somebody's time.

This is how it works today. Tap the gates: the ones on the left are almost always accidental friction, the ones marked control almost never are.

as it works today kept: the business decides handed over: the agent does it

The minutes and hours on each step are an example of a typical circuit. What is not an example is which of the seven steps were put there on purpose.
